After the local police was completely overwhelmed, the residents in this neighborhood took over and barricaded the area. After several months of holding back rioters, looters, and roaming gangs at the entrances, New Bottsford was able to hold itself together.
By 2062, the now defunct high-tension power cables at the south end of the area were restructured into wind turbines and hand-powered water pumps were setup by a local engineering student that fled back home when the devastation begun. The old Greenfield City Hall had been converted into the city hall of the new town with a market occupying where the parking lot is at. Maple Grove Elementary School had been maintained as a school for the town. Guard stations were setup throughout the town. New Bottsford had once been exploring expansion of the town in hopes of accommodating more people, but with attacks on the town by the Bandits of the Hood included a suicide bombing of the Northwest entrance on May 20th 2100 and an ambush at night located on the western end of the town that killed 71 people a year later put everyone on edge. Since then those ideas are gone until the Bandits of the Hood are stopped... if they are stopped. On top of them, the Horseman of the Apocalypse have been rumored to be behind the May 20th suicide bombing
Today, the town somewhat thrives. The water pumps can operate from the wind turbines, but some of them are damaged from attacks or worn from decades of usage. Farming and trade within continue to prosper, but there is a sense of uncertainty as to things improving soon or ever. Many, mostly the young, think that one day life will return to something like it was before society went under and that New Bottsford will be a paramount location in starting civilization over. The elderly and those that had been through the worst, say otherwise.
Plenty of homes stocked with goods (which are well-patrolled). Average home will have 2d10 Common Items, 2d10 Uncommon Items; a successful Scavenge Roll will result in a single Rare Item, and a 10 successful roll results in one Very Rare Item.
